It is being spread around Korean community sites that there is a ‘We Got Married’ curse going around and past and present celebrities associated with the popular MBC program have seemingly been afflicted with it, causing it to attract attention from netizens.
T-ARA’s Eunjung, 2PM’s Nichkhun and Alex have recently found themselves embroiled in controversy. Eunjung was embroiled in a controversy earlier this week, as it was speculated she had contributed to former T-ARA member, Hwayoung in having her contract terminated.
Idol girl group T-ARA is arguably going through the toughest period of their career with netizens petitioning for Eunjung and her ‘husband’ Lee Jang Woo to step down from ‘We Got Married’ and the calls are getting louder and louder with each passing day.
Meanwhile, Nichkhun who starred with f(x)’s Victoria and Alex who starred with Shin Ae found themselves in incidents when they drove under the influence of alcohol.
Other stars that appeared on the show in the past like Kangin of Super Junior, Crown J and SG Wannabe’s Kim Young Jun have had their brushes with the law as well.
Crown J who starred with Seo In Young, was charged with threatening and assaulting his former manager. Kim Young Jun who starred with his real life girlfriend, Hwang Jung Eum, found himself facing charges after a drunk driving accident. Super Junior’s Kangin who was coupled with Lee Yoon Ji was charged with drunk driving and assault and became the first Super Junior member to be enlisted in the army to reflect on his actions.
With such instances, many netizens expressed, “It’s coincidental if it’s just 1 or 2, but seeing so many affected, it isn’t much of a coincidence anymore isn’t it?” “Classic, all of them had alcohol”, “It can be inferred as a curse I guess”, “Let’s hope nothing happens to the other cast members”.
