2PM’s Nichkhun reaches a settlement + will continue hiatus for the time being

On July 31st, 2PM‘s Nichkhun reached a settlement with the other party in his recent car accident and expressed his desire to continue his period of reflection.

JYP Entertainment revealed on August 2nd, “Since the accident, Nichkhun has been spending his time reflecting on his actions. He will not be attending the JYP Nation concert scheduled for the 4th. His decision to stay out of his other official schedules also stand the same.”

They continued, “Nichkhun has postponed his Korean and Japanese activities with the exception of those that involve contracts that were signed at an earlier date and require his presence. He will be working out a solution for those in a way that will not harm anyone involved.”

JYP Entertainment reveals Nichkhun will not be attending upcoming events for the time being

Just after the tweeting of the recent heartfelt apology by Nichkhun, JYP Entertainment has informed allthatkpops about the the singer’s apology as well as announcing a few changes in upcoming events.

The agency stated through an email,

This is JYP Entertainment.

Nichkhun has deeply apologized for his wrongdoings to everyone who has shown him love for the past five years, and mentioned that he would like to take some time to reflect on himself before returning to all his fans and the public with a new heart and mindset.

We, JYP Entertainment, will respect Nichkhun’s wishes, and as such, Nichkhun will not be attending the scheduled JYP Nation concert in Korea and Japan in August as well as JYP Fan’s Day among other upcoming schedules. For the events with contracts involved, we will do our best to amend the schedule and cooperate in a way that will not bring harm to those involved.

We deeply apologize that an incident such as this occurred with our agency artist, and we will continue to concentrate our efforts to make sure that things like this will not happen again.

Witness at the scene of Nichkhun’s accident says it was not entirely the 2PM member’s fault

While 2PM‘s Nichkhun was detained without constraint for driving under the influence of alcohol, a witness who was at the scene of the recent accident says Nichkhun was not entirely at fault.

At 2:30 in the morning of July 24th, an accident occurred between a motorcycle and Nichkhun’s Volkswagen at an intersection in Gangnam. At the time, Nichkhun was returning home after having two beers at a company dinner. His blood alcohol level was measured at 0.056%, causing his license to become suspended.

Witness ‘A’ (39) who was at the scene of the accident recalled the incident in detail to Herald News on July 25th.

“Nichkhun’s vehicle and the motorcycle were coming towards each other at the Ahn Sae Hospital four-way intersection in a cross direction,” the witness began. “The motorcycle was coming down the road, and Nichkhun’s vehicle was driving up. The motorcycle was on the left making a right, when it bumped into the right side of Nichkhun’s vehicle.”

After the initial collision, Nichkhun’s vehicle had suffered a few scratches. The witness then explained, “I think the secondary shock had caused the body of the motorcyclist to turn and hit the right side of Nichkhun’s car near the tire. With that said, I think Nichkhun had the chips on his car because the body of the motorcyclist had run into it.”

“I would say both drivers were driving poorly,” the witness continued. “This accident is not 100% Nichkhun’s fault. Both drivers were speeding, and even if they did come to an abrupt stop, it was not a situation where they could have avoided an accident.”

“I think this will have a huge impact on Nichkhun’s image. I hope he does not suffer too much harm because of this,” the witness added.

In regards to the collision, Seoul’s Gangnam Police Station currently investigating the incident also ruled that Nichkhun’s drinking had nothing to do with the accident itself. The police have not received a statement from the motorcyclist about the accident, and therefore the police plan on revisiting the scene of the accident to do some on-the-spot inspection once they receive a written report from the driver. The two driver’s negligence in regards to the accident will be determined then.

To better handle the situation, 119 (Korea’s 911) was called immediately after the collision and the rescue team had mobilized to the scene. According to witness A, Nichkhun “turned so pale, he was so remorseful and shocked. The driver of the motorcycle was on the ground at the time, so he looked extremely panicked.” The witness also denied the reports that spoke of an argument that allegedly took place between the two drivers after the collision.

Following the accident, the motorcyclist went with witness A in the ambulance to Konkuk University Medical Center and was treated for his torn ear cartilage. The driver also received a CT scan and an X-Ray. Witness A remarked, “There was a lot of blood, and he complained of pain in his back and shoulders.”

The motorcyclist is currently hospitalized at Hyemin General Hospital in Jayang-dong. He is reported to have “small damage in his first lumbar bone, and a scratch in his shoulder bone,” causing him to be unable to move.

JYP Entertainment has publicly apologized for the accident, saying that they will “earnestly oblige to any follow-up investigations that may be necessary.” They are also “in close contact with the motorcyclist, and are doing their best to make sure he is not uncomfortable during his treatment.”

JYP Entertainment apologizes for 2PM member Nichkhun’s recent accident

JYP Entertainment just released this statement to allthatkpops, in regards to 2PM member Nichkhun‘s recent car accident.

“This is JYP Entertainment. Around 2:30AM this morning, Nichkhun who is an artist under our agency had attended a dinner with the entire JYP family present, following a rehearsal for a JYP performance. After having about two glasses of beer, Nichkhun was driving back to his dorm which is located on the same block as the location the dinner took place. On the way, Nichkhun was involved in an accident with a motorcycle at an intersection in the neighborhood.”

They continued, “His blood alcohol level was measured at 0.056%, and his license has been suspended. Nichkhun himself and our company are well aware that we were careless, and for this we would like to apologize. Furthermore, we will earnestly oblige to any follow-up investigations that may be necessary. Once again, we would like to sincerely apologize.”

2PM’s Nichkhun involved in a minor car accident while driving under the influence

2PM‘s Nichkhun has been allegedly caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

On July 24th at 3:30AM, Nichkhun was involved in a car accident while driving in Gangnam. The singer was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he rear-ended a motorcycle.

His blood alcohol level was measured at 0.056%, a percentage where he will be subjected to his license becoming suspended.

An official from Gangnam’s police station informed Dispatch over the telephone July 24th, “After measuring his alcohol content at the site [of the incident], it was concluded that [Nichkhun] was not severely intoxicated. Immediately after the accident, [Nichkhun] and the victim were investigated by the police.”

No one was injured at the scene, and there was no serious damage to either vehicle. The police station official continued, “It was a small accident and neither Nichkhun nor the victim were injured. Both vehicles were insured, and Nichkhun has taken measures to safely return home following his investigation.”

J.Y. Park was skeptical about Nichkhun’s talents at first?

J.Y. Park confessed that he was skeptical of how well 2PM‘s Nichkhun would fare as a singer when he was introduced as a possible JYP Entertainment trainee.

During filming for the upcoming broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Happy Together 3‘, J.Y Park stated, “Though the agency’s casting director discovered Nichkhun and brought him over, I was skeptical after seeing him whether he could actually become a singer.”

He continued, “When I first saw Nichkhun’s dance and singing skills, I was in doubt about whether he could improve, but now, Nichkhun is the breadwinner at our company,” causing laughter.

The CEO then added that everyone, including Nichkhun himself, was aware that he wasn’t optimistic about Nichkhun’s debut.

This episode of ‘Happy Together 3′ will air on July 19th at 11:15PM KST.

Nichkhun and IU voted by ‘Elle’ readers as the idols they most want to vacation with

In a recent poll held by Elle magazine, 2PM‘s Nichkhun and IU were chosen as the idols fans most want to vacation with.

Nichkhun topped the list of most wanted male idol vacation partners with 42% of the votes. Elle’s readers commented, “It would be paradise wherever we went,” and “Khun, you don’t have to do anything! I’ll take care of everything!”

In second came MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon with 27% of votes, while Big Bang‘s G-Dragon took third with 18% and SHINee‘s Minho came in at fourth with 13%.

IU was the #1 female idol and got 39% of votes. Those polled commented, “A trip filled with happiness! Her laid-back personality and easygoing charm makes her seem like an unni,” and “A vacation with IU would be a ‘Good Day‘ like her song, everyday.”

miss A‘s Suzy made second with 27%, Dara of 2NE1 received 18%, and SISTAR‘s Hyorin came in fourth with 16%.

2PM’s Nichkhun airs his grievances to his fellow members

2PM‘s Nichkhun has recited all of his grievances to his fellow members.

On the July 14th installment of the segment ‘Guerilla Date‘ under KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘, the members were asked to share grievances they have kept inside towards their fellow members.

When it was Nichkhun’s turn to speak, everyone was surprised as he had quite a few things to say to each of the members. He began with Taecyeon exclaiming, “Organize your hair before you leave the dorm!” Taecyeon, who’s nicknamed ‘fashion terrorist’, has recently been growing out his hair, leading him to sport unique hairstyles.

Nichkhun then faced Junsu and hilariously commented, “Let’s wake up when the alarm goes off. I always had to wake you up even during our trainee days.”

To maknae Chansung, Nichkhun said, “Take care of your things.” Chansung is known for easily forgetting things as he had once left his phone behind on an airplane.

Lastly, Nichkhun turned to Junho and remarked, “Let’s not play the drums in our rooms,” causing everyone to burst into laughter.

Wooyoung was unable to participate in the recording for this episode due to his solo schedule.
