SM Entertainment and JYJ to have another trial in September

SM Entertainment and JYJ have failed to reach an agreement on the issues surrounding the members’ TVXQ contract.

The trial between SM Entertainment and the members of JYJ took place on August 10 at 4PM KST in Seoul Central District Court. SM Entertainment’s representative Kim Young Min, along with lawyers from both sides, were present to debate the issue. The members of JYJ were not present for this trial.

In the 1-hour-30-minute trial, each side expressed their sentiments to the court. Afterwards, both sides expressed their opinions to each other. This day, Representative Kim left the meeting to have a conversation with a lawyer in the waiting room. Representative Kim met with reporters during the mediation and stated, “The court is still in trial so nothing can be said.

SM Entertainment and JYJ have been in trial since last May, going through a total of six hearings to reconcile their differences thus far. However, at the end of last year, both sides failed to reach an agreement and hearings have resumed. In May, both sides expressed their points during the hearing and waited for an official verdict, but the court advised a mutual adjustment so another trial date was issued.

However, the two sides have failed to meet a mutual agreement once again. JYJ’s lawyer told Star News, “The difference in opinion between the two sides is too largeAn agreement could not be reached so it was decided that another trial will take place around September 13th.

The lawyer continued, “SM Entertainment’s side is to ‘forget about the past’, and our side is to settle all the accounts and issues in court. Both sides diverge in opinion, but the court is encouraging a voluntary agreement or a mediation until a decision has been made.

After three years of both sides battling for an agreement, the chances of the court making the final decision has risen. When the SM Entertainment representatives exited the court, they answered the reporters’ questions saying, “There is nothing for us to say yet.

In 2009, JYJ stated in court, “[Please terminate the effects of our unreasonable exclusive contracts],” and filed a case. As the court accepted this, SM Entertainment filed a claim for compensation for damages in April of 2010. In February, the Seoul Central District Court dismissed both of SM Entertainment’s injunctions against JYJ.

After this recent hearing, it’s been confirmed that the exclusive contracts signed by both sides have been nullified, and that the decision to secure the individual entertainment activities of the JYJ members has been upheld.

JYJ’s Jaejoong discusses his relationship with his juniors

JYJ‘s Jaejoong held an interview after the last shooting of his drama ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin‘ and discussed his relationship with his juniors.

The interviewer asked Jaejoong, “It has been a while since you have been on a music program. How do you feel when you see other singers on music programs?

After a momentary pause Jaejoong gave a short reply, “So, they are on TV?” The interviewer then asked, “Have you ever felt that you want to appear on music programs again?

Jaejoong answered, “I want to appear on music programs.” He continued, “When I talk to my juniors, it feels like JYJ have become [strangers]. I feel like we have become rare seniors to our juniors. The juniors look at us in wonder when we run into them, since it’s hard to see us on TV. Our juniors told us that when a new song or album by JYJ comes out, they seek it out on purpose and download it to listen to us.

It has also been revealed that even though he cannot stand on stage, he has been enjoying listening to and seeing the performances of his juniors. Jaejoong shared, “My manager likes SISTAR, so I listen to a lot of their songs. I listen to what my manager listens to, and I like their songs. SISTAR sings well. For male singers, I like B2ST‘s new song. I saw their ‘Inkigayo‘ performance too.

Jaejoong has not put off composing as he’s been composing songs while filming his drama. When asked about what kinds of inspiration he received while playing Kim Kyung Tak in ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin’, he replied, “They were harsh songs, so I deleted all of them because they were sad. The songs created were all too sad.

He brought good news by revealing JYJ is currently preparing for their new album saying, “We are preparing for a new album that will be released in the first half of next year.”

Jaejoong discusses JYJ’s teamwork

After the last shooting for MBC‘s ’Time Slip Dr.Jin‘, JYJ‘s Jaejoong held an interview at a cafe in Gangnam where the veteran idol shared his two-cents on the recent controversies regarding teamwork within idol groups. He commented, “Honestly there aren’t any idol groups that do not have problems.

Jaejoong added, “Idol groups are not family either. Plus when there are many members, there are bound to be members who are closer and connect better with each other than others. Having problems within a team is inevitable.

He also revealed how JYJ sustains such a strong bond with one another. He stated, “We definitely talk about the good things, but we also talk about the bad things,” and added, “Eric hyung recently posted a picture of Shinhwa on Kakaotalk, and when I commented, ‘It’s good to see you guys together, it’s really cool,’ he answered, ‘We are pretending like we are close.’ I think the reason he can say something like that so freely is because they are really close. Our members are kind of like that too.”

The idol star expressed his affection towards his members, adding, “When all three of us are together, it feels complete. I’m full of confidence (when I’m with them). It’s better together than alone, so when I’m going to try harder than I did when I was alone.

SM Entertainment hints at 5-member TVXQ reunion?

Fans have noticed an interesting change on SM Entertainment Japan‘s official website. The profiles of the former members of TVXQ, Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong, have appeared on the group’s section of the site.

After a lawsuit with SM Entertainment, TVXQ was left with two members, Yunho and Changmin. While Yunho and Changmin continued to promote as TVXQ, the other three members have been active under the name JYJ.

As expected, fans are eager to find out what the site update means as there is no statement from SM Entertainment or the TVXQ and JYJ members as of now.

Considering there have been murmurs of a reunion before, what do you think about this recent development? Is the site update a hint of TVXQ’s return as a 5-member group or some sort of mistake?

JYJ sues Dispatch for defamation of character

After creating controversy with the release of their report and audio files detailing the alleged swearing and violence against sasaeng fans by the JYJ members, Dispatch has been sued by JYJ for defamation of character.

According to reports that have surfaced, JYJ’s representatives are said to have filed a lawsuit against Dispatch asking for 100 million KRW (~$88,355 USD) on August 1st KST. It is also reported that they have demanded that Dispatch take down the audio files and their article, or be fine with 3 million KRW (~$2,650 USD) each day that the media outlet does not comply.

JYJ’s legal team stated, “Publicly revealing an illegally recorded audio file without confirming with those involved first and revealing their real names is considered to be defamation of character and a violation of privacy.”

“We had previously filed a criminal case back in March. However, after discussion, we thought that a civil lawsuit was a better fit, and thus retracted the previous lawsuit and refiled again.”

An internet cafe caught red-handed for selling idol stars’ personal info

A cafe within an internet portal site has come under fire for buying and selling the cell phone numbers, social security numbers, and Kakao Talk IDs of idols such as TVXQ, JYJ, and SHINee. In addition, buyers were even able to attain the phone numbers of the artists’ managers or close acquaintances through the website.

Exact prices were not specified, but it is said that the price of each piece of information differed greatly depending on the idol group.

As controversy over the site began to grow, access to the cafe was finally blocked.

Netizens who came across the shocking news stated, “It’s a pity their personal information is leaked just because they are celebrities. Although they are public figures, I think we should protect their privacy”, “Buying another copy of their album would be much more helpful to the artist than buying their social security number”, and “That’s crossing the line of fandom and approaching criminal offense. I hope they realize that sometimes less is more and that their actions can actually be a disservice to the idols they admire”.

JYJ’s Yoochun and Moon Mason transform into ‘Uncle and Nephew’

JYJ‘s Park Yoochun and popular child star Moon Mason have become a topic of conversation because of their ‘Uncle and Nephew‘ shirts. The two were noticed for wearing the same t-shirt, displaying the trendy ‘Family look‘.

Once during the filming of his drama ‘Rooftop Prince‘, Yoochun appeared wearing a t-shirt from clothing brand ‘N‘, a brand for which he models. However, Moon Mason recently uploaded a photo of himself on his twitter, in which he was wearing the same t-shirt . The child star chose to wear the shirt on his trip to the amusement park Everland with Kim Yoona, the lead singer of band Jaurim.

The simple t-shirt, not at all over the top and yet fitting for any location, is perfect for executing the ‘family look‘, just like Park Yoochun and Moon Mason.

Court Ruling for JYJ vs SM Entertainment delayed to August

The court ruling between SM Entertainment and group JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu, Park Yoochun) has been postponed.

The ruling in regards to the exclusive contract lawsuit was originally scheduled to take place at 10AM on July 19th at Seoul Central District Court, however the ruling has been postponed and will now take place on August 10th.

JYJ first filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment in 2009 claiming that their contract was unfair (Exclusive Contract is Invalid) and a claim for damages. This caused SM Entertainment to file a countersuit and make a claim that it was a fair contract. They also wanted compensation for the damages that the three JYJ members caused to SM. On May 15th, SM Entertainment’s counter-suit was dismissed. Now, we’re at the point where the courts will rule upon JYJ’s first lawsuit (Exclusive Contract is Invalid) and damages against SM Entertainment which was rescheduled to take place on August 10th.

If JYJ wins this case, SM Entertainment will have to acknowledge JYJ as an official group apart from TVXQ.

With the recent change in court date, fans are now even more eager to find out if the battle between JYJ and SM Entertainment will finally be able to come to an end next month.

Details on JYJ’s Junsu upcoming solo repackaged album released

More details on JYJ Junsu‘s upcoming repackaged solo album have been revealed.

The singer is currently in Los Angeles working with a long list of top staff members to perfect his album to the best of his ability. C-JeS Entertainment stated, “Junsu is currently recording English songs for his world tour, and there are plans for him to begin recording a music video shortly.”

The representative continued, “We cannot yet release the song’s title and genre, but the album includes the participation of Sony Music‘s composer Bruce Automatic Vanderveer, who previously worked with the likes of Christina Aguilera, The Wanted, and Leona Lewis earlier this year.”

Composer Automatic expressed, “I was surprised by XIA, as he’s someone who truly sings from the heart. I thought we’d need two days for his recording process, but we really only needed one. Throughout the recording, I couldn’t help but be impressed by his skills. I’m really glad to be able to work with him.”

His music video will also be a collaboration with top names. Directed by Marc Klasfeld, who has experience producing for “We are Young“, which was a recent Billboard hit, along with Beyonce, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Far East Movement. JYJ’s Junsu to hold a World Tour + release a repackaged album!

On July 16th, representatives from C-Jes Entertainment announced, “[JYJ's] Junsu, who is currently traveling on his Asia Tour, will also be holding a world tour in North America, South America, and Europe.

After having released his first solo album and sweeping music charts across the continent of Asia, Junsu appears to be ready to meet his global audience. And not surprisingly so, since despite this being Junsu’s first time embarking on solo album activities, he has achieved great sales numbers even on charts abroad with his unique concept and 12 stylistically diverse songs.

CEO of C-JeS Entertainment Baek Chang Joo further expanded on Junsu’s success, saying, “Ever since Junsu’s first public performance, his solo album has not only captivated the country, but also a wide area of Asia as well; as we were, of course, targeting markets overseas, it seems we have produced a world class music video. The awaited results were extraordinary. During Junsu’s successful Asia tour, the number of love calls we received from areas such as North and South America would not stop flowing in, and thus we decided to launch a world tour.

The CEO continued to reveal, “For this world tour, Junsu has put together and prepared a repackaged album. As this album will be targeting the world market, it will include an English single and a music video produced in America. Although we cannot further clarify our future plans, Junsu will be climbing the steps to fame in America.

One of these American parties interested in JYJ’s Junsu commented, “There is great interest [and anticipation] for JYJ’s Junsu’s world tour success throughout America. The title song, “TARANTALLEGRA”, not only attempted to draw in interest via the K-Pop Wave, it created its own, unique sensation; the music video has gathered high marks from parties throughout America as well. It seems that, after promoting as a soloist and single-handedly holding a world tour, Junsu has demonstrated the global interest [he has gathered].

It has been decided that Junsu’s upcoming world tour will include stops in 2-3 cities per continent. Currently, Junsu is still on his Asia tour, which started in Seoul, and is continuing throughout countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, and China. Next month, Junsu will be holding his final concert in Hong Kong.
