Girl group KARA became diplomats of Korean cuisine.
The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries appointed the ladies of KARA as ‘K-Food Ambassadors’. They opened a ‘One-Day’ restaurant where they personally served international students and teenage volunteers during the day and also their fans during the evening.
The members invited 11 international students from the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and more to enjoy a variety of Korean food. The girls gathered the students at a restaurant in Seoul to personally serve Korean food that they themselves had cooked and prepared.
The dishes were made from ingredients grown in South Korea, and the KARA members attempted to display the wide range of Korean tastes and flavors.
Carefully explaining the different foods to their guests, the girls did their part as ‘Korean Food Diplomats’ and remembered to ask the students their thoughts on the different dishes.
The girls will continue to do their part as ‘K-Food Ambassadors’ by promoting Korean Food in Japan, China, Southeast Asia, and more through campaigns, video messages, and photo shoots. On this appointment, the members of KARA remarked, “It was only for a brief moment, but we are glad we were able to spread more awareness of Korean Food.”
Meanwhile, KARA has swept the online music charts with their new song, “Pandora“.
