Shin Se Kyung discusses her friendship with Kim Soo Hyun on ‘TAXI’

Actress Shin Se Kyung revealed that actor Kim Soo Hyun had actually been a friend of hers since school days.

On the August 16th broadcast of tvN‘s ‘TAXI‘, Shin Se Kyung revealed that she had attended school with actor Kim Soo Hyun and Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung.

“Sooyoung is so busy, that I can’t seem to ever see her, but we became close after hanging out a few times, while Kim Soo Hyun and I grew close at school,” Shin Se Kyung explained.

Further praising her friend and colleague Kim Soo Hyun, she said, “Just taking a look at the kind of classes he took showed that he was really talented. He’s an extremely open-minded person, and I thought that he would become really successful one day.”

When asked if she ever saw Kim Soo Hyun as a man and not just a friend, the actress let out a laugh and said, “Our classes at school were really unique, where both the girls and the guys would have to make weird facial expressions and noises. So it’s really hard for the guys to see us as girls, and for the girls to see them as guys!”

Kim Soo Hyun and miss A’s Suzy reunite for ‘High Cut’

The lovebirds of the hit drama ‘Dream High‘, Kim Soo Hyun and miss A‘s Suzy, recently reunited for High Cut‘s latest magazine spread.

For the pictorial, Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy went on a trip to New Zealand, acting as a couple for the photo shoot. In response to her reunion with Kim Soo Hyun, Suzy commented, “It was nice seeing each other after so long, and we worked well together.”

The pre-released photos show the two fishing, camping, and biking. Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy perfectly pulled off the couple concept with their adorable eye contact and skinship. What caught the eyes of netizens is how good they look together with their tall heights and gorgeous looks.

miss A’s Suzy selected as the newest model for ‘Bean Pole Outdoor’

miss A‘s Suzy has been appointed as the newest model for clothing line Bean Pole Outdoor.

After recently being spotted with Kim Soo Hyun, Bean Pole Outdoor officially revealed on July 26th, “Starting in the fall and winter seasons, Suzy will be working with our current model Kim Soo Hyun.”

The brand’s associate explained why they selected Suzy saying, “Suzy’s bright and healthy charms displayed on stage, in films, and on the small-screen matched up well with the values of our brand.”

This is not the first time Suzy and Kim Soo Hyun will be working together, as they have both starred in KBS‘ drama ‘Dream High‘ together in the past.

Suzy and Kim Soo Hyun’s first Bean Pole Outdoor advertisement will be unveiled to the public in early September.

Kim Soo Hyun’s lighter from ‘The Thieves’ sells for 1 million KRW in auction

Actor Kim Soo Hyun‘s lighter has been sold for over 1 million Won ($870 USD).

The lighter is a prop belonging to ‘Jampano‘, the actor’s character in the film, ‘The Thieves‘.

Starting from the 16th to the 22nd, 10 props used in ‘The Thieves’ were auctioned off on an internet open market site. The ST DuPont Maxijet midnight blue lighter, fitting for the bold character of Jampano, especially drew in the attention of fans.

Netizens who heard about the auction responded, “It’s a price that reflects Kim Soo Hyun’s popularity,” “Highest bid went to Kim Soo Hyun’s lighter? Amazing,” “I’ll bet Kim Soo Hyun is proud,” and more.

Kim Soo Hyun strikes a silly deal with ‘The Thieves’ audience

Actor Kim Soo Hyun has made a deal with the public about his latest movie ‘The Thieves‘.

‘The Thieves’ held its opening, red carpet event on the 24th at the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) located in the Samseong-dong area. During the premiere, Kim Soo Hyun made an appearance and was briefly interviewed.

At one point, host Kim Bum Ryong prodded Kim Soo Hyun into making a promise with the public to ensure the movie’s success. Bewildered, Kim Soo Hyun started, “[If the box office number] exceeds 10 million people…”

As he hesitated, fellow co-star Kim Yoon Suk piped up playfully, “He will carry Jeon Ji Hyun on his back through the entire country.”

At this, Kim Soo Hyun humorously added, “If the movie pulls in 10 million people, I will watch the movie with the ten millionth person on my back.”

Regarding his performance playing the character ‘Jampano’, he commented, “[Though calling the characters 'The Thieves' makes them seem like extremely realistic and selfish people], Jampano at least was the most romantic.”

Those who attended the red carpet event, aside from Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Yoon Suk, include the other lead roles, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Jae, Jeon Ji Hyun, Oh Dal Soo, and Kim Hae Sook, celebrities from abroad such as Lim Dal Hwa and Derek Tsang, and the director Choi Dong Hun. During the event, ‘The Thieves’ managed to grab a viewing audience of over 3000 people on the first day.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Jun Hyun win awards for 39th ‘Korea Broadcasting Awards’

Actor Kim Soo Hyun and comedian Kim Jun Hyun both received awards on July 24th from ‘The 39th Korea Broadcasting Awards‘.

Kim Soo Hyun was recognized for his performance in ‘The Moon That Embraces The Sun‘, and Kim Jun Hyun for his roles in KBS‘ ‘Gag Concert‘.

The chairman of the Korean Broadcasters Assocation, Kim In Kyu, stated, “After preliminary decisions and much deliberation that took place from July 10 until the 20th, we selected KBS’ Hong Sa Hoon for the news writer award and EBS‘ Kim Hyung Jun for the producer award.”

He continued, “We chose Kim Jun Hyun for the ‘Comedian Award’, Kim Soo Hyun for the ‘Talent Award’, and Park Wan Kyu for the ‘Singer Award’, as well as 24 other talented recipients in 24 other categories.”

The winner of the Daesang award, which will go to one of the named recipients, will be announced at the September 3rd awards ceremony at KBS Hall.

Kim Soo Hyun and miss A’s Suzy team up for Beanpole’s new CF

‘Dream High‘ couple Kim Soo Hyun and miss A‘s Suzy will be reuniting once more as the new CF partners for clothing brand ‘Beanpole‘.

The two left for New Zealand on July 18th and will be returning this weekend after finishing filming the CF. One representative stated, “Suzy has been chosen as the female model alongside Kim Soo Hyun. Together, they will be combining their talents for the CF. Although they’ve worked together in the past through their drama, this is their first time as CF models.”

He continued, “They’re both spending extremely busy days working on both their dramas and CFs, so it was difficult working out their schedules. We’re all looking forward to utilizing Netherlands’ background for a cute and fun new CF.”
