MBC, Sony Pictures Reaches Deal to Produce Global Editions of ‘We Got Married’

A global edition of MBC’s popular variety program, We Got Married will be produced and aired all over the world.

MBC and Sony Pictures Entertainment Network Asia came together on July 18 in Singapore and signed a letter of intent agreeing the two would produce and broadcast a new edition of We Got Married.

Under the details, MBC will produce the global edition of We Got Married while Sony Pictures Entertainment Network Asia will air the show through its various channels in 41 different countries including China, Taiwan, India, Australia and more.

The global We Got Married will follow the same format of having two individuals being paired and filmed as a pseudo-marriage couple.

However, the new edition will pair two individuals from different parts of the world as the couples will come to learn and understand each other’s cultures.

A total of 12 to 15 episodes are planned per season with the new series targeted to premiere sometime towards the end of this year or in early 2013.
