On July 30th, president of T-ara’s agency Core Contents Media, Kim Kwaung Soo made a big announcement to claim that, “The bullying acts of the T-ara members are to be false. Hwayoung is a very talented and a potential rapper, for this reason, we are willing to terminate her contract and released her from the group T-ara with no conditions; we believe she will grow into the future as a free artist.”
On July 29th, T-ara members have tweeted posts stressing on the word "self-determination" that seem directed at Hwayoung which triggered the public's curiosity. Hwayoung was not able to perform on their Japan Tour due to a leg injury, therefore their twitter posts been raising an outcry over a supposed bullying in directing at Hwayoung that she did not make enough effort to participate in the concert tour in Japan. Hwayoung left a message on her Twitter contradicting her members’ tweets, "Sometimes, it could be impossible to accomplish some things even with determination. It is upsetting when things like that happen, but I still believe that heaven stands for all that is positive. God, you know everything, right?” Her post left the attention of netizens aroused.
At the same time as all these rumors heating up, the president of Core Contents Media, Kim Kwang Soo revealed to have a big announcement to make regarding T-ara. His shocking but somehow expected announcement soon became the headline; he broke the news on July 30th to announce the termination of Hwayoung’s contract with Core Contents Media as no longer a member of T-ara. His decision has upset a big population of fans, netizens and the public.
Soon there are several of blogs and groups created to support Hwayoung; one of the groups created in popular online community, Naver and title “We Demand the Truth from T-Ara”, the first day since the group has made gained more than 40,000 members to join.
Some of these opponents intensified the bullying rumors by sharing videos and photos to prove T-ara’s bullying act.
After Kim Kwang Soo’s announcement, Hwayoung undated her twitter with a questionable comment, “Facts without any truth” which triggered the public’s curiosity even more. Soon after Hwayoung’s post, Kim Kwang Soo made a second announcement and revealed the dark side of Hwayoung by saying “Right before a live performance, Hwayoung suddenly changed her mind and refused to go on stage so in the short period of time, Eunjung and Hyomin had to pick up her rap parts but it ended up Hyomin made a mistake due to being nervous and lack of practice. Her irresponsible act resulted in these mistake and broke the team’s spirit.”
