Story behind Sungyeol’s bathrobe airport fashion to be unveiled on ‘Weekly Idol’!

Photos of Sungyeol‘s forward-thinking(?) airport fashion was revealed just last month, leaving fans laughing while wondering why the INFINITE member was wearing a bathrobe at the airport.

It looks like the story behind the singer’s wardrobe choice will now be revealed on the upcoming episode of MBC‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘ airing August 15th.

After wrapping up promotions for their third mini album title song “The Chaser“, INFINITE headed to Jeju island to film a music video as well as take some time off. The day they arrived on the island, the members all excitedly gathered in one room to play games and enjoy their short vacation. However, with great games come great punishment. As agreed upon by the members, brutal ‘airport fashion’ was selected as the loser’s punishment, raising the stakes of the game.

Because the punishment required the ‘loser’ to be seen by numerous fans and reporters at the airport wearing the outfit chosen by the other members, it was said that even the less talkative members like Hoya displayed their competitive side and put in all of their efforts to avoid being the unlucky individual.

Woohyun reveals why the INFINITE members are so ‘lovable’ in his eyes

Woohyun of INFINITE recently revealed his affection for his fellow group members.

On the 14th at the MBC Dream Center, a press release was held for the upcoming fantasy sitcom, ‘The Thousandth Man‘. During the event when the singer was asked if the INFINITE members show him support he replied, “They cheer me on a lot.”

He continued, “I can get sensitive because of lack of sleep as a result of filming but the members will purposely try and make me laugh. Honestly, they’re not even that funny but it’s so lovable to see them trying to make me laugh. Thanks to their support, I’m happily filming [the sitcom].”

Meanwhile, the first episode of ‘The Thousandth Man’ is scheduled to air this coming 17th!

T-ara’s Hyomin shows tears during press conference for ‘The Thousandth Man’

T-ara‘s Hyomin ended up shedding a few tears during the press conference for MBC‘s fantasy sitcom ‘The Thousandth Man‘.

The singer, along with her co-stars Kang Ye Won, Lee Chun Hee, Jun Mi Sun, INFINITE‘s Woohyun, as well as PDs Kang Chul Woo and Choi Hwa Jin, attended the press conference that took place on August 14th at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.

Producers of the drama requested reporters in advance to only ask questions regarding the drama.

However, reporters brought up T-ara’s recent controversy, asking, “The public is interested, so please give an explanation behind the bullying controversy involving Hwayoung.”

Hyomin responded, “First of all, I’m very happy to be here. All of the actors and staff members of ‘The Thousandth Man’ worked hard and their efforts have come to fruition, so I hope the questions will only be related to the drama,” and ended up with tears filling her eyes.

‘The Thousandth Man’ will begin airing on August 17th.

MBC’s Sunday evening variety continues to flounder

Suffering from the ill effects of the prolonged strike and lack of quality, MBC‘s Sunday evening variety block has been reduced to a shell of its former self as competing programs from KBS and SBS leave no room for MBC to gain a foothold.

The latest episodes of MBC’s ‘Infinity Girls‘ and ‘I Am a Singer 2′ gained ratings of 2.2% and 6.1% respectively, according to AGB Nielson. This is in comparison with their competitors, which all scored higher than MBC’s programs.

KBS‘s ‘Happy Sunday‘ (consisting of ‘Qualifications of Men’ and ‘1 Night 2 Days Season 2‘) earned 14.2%, while SBS‘s ‘Good Sunday‘ (‘Running Man’ and ‘Laws of the Jungle 2‘) took first place with 16.8%.

T-ara’s Hyomin to attend press conference for ‘The Thousandth Man’

T-ara‘s Hyomin will be making her first public appearance after the controversy through the production press conference for her upcoming drama.

The singer is scheduled to attend the press conference for MBC‘s fantasy sitcom ‘The Thousandth Man‘ at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan on August 14th.

Other attendees include Kang Ye Won, Lee Chun Hee, Jun Mi Sun, Seo Kyung Suk, Park Jung Hak, and INFINITE‘s Woohyun. However, things could change last minute for MBC revealed, “The attendance list may chance depending on the filming schedule.”

Hyomin’s attendance, in particular, is attracting attention as the public is curious to know whether she will be speaking about the bullying rumors surrounding T-ara and former member Hwayoung.

‘The Thousandth Man’ is a fantasy sitcom about a gumiho (nine tailed fox) who must eat the livers of 1,000 men in order to become a true human being. Hyomin, who plays the role of the gumiho, has finished consuming 999 livers before she chances upon a man she truly falls in love with, but must still work to obtain his liver to live.

The drama will begin airing on August 17th.

Infinity Challenge films a new episode for the first time in 24 weeks

On July 18th, MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ members gathered together to film a new episode for the first time in 24 weeks.

The seven members of ‘Infinity Challenge’ all showed up to their practice room located in Seoul Apgujeong and could not hide their excitement to get together and film a new episode for their return on MBC. On this day, rapper and ’8th member of Infinity Challenge’ Defconn showed up in his outfit for the group ‘Hyungdon & Daejun‘ to give support for his partner.

After the filming ended, HaHa sent Jung Jun Ha a tweet saying, “hahaha“. As Jun Ha replied, “Why? Did I do okay today?“, HaHa replied back, “Hyung! You are seriously the funniest person ever!” It seems that the members successfully filmed their new episode and fans are now more than excited to see these seven members return on screen.

In related news, the MBC labor union has announced an end to the 170-day strike and ‘Infinity Challenge’ PD Kim Tae Ho claimed that they will most likely be able to greet the waiting fans by resuming the show on July 21st. Fans are anticipating to finally see the results for the finale of HaHa vs. No Hong Chul on the upcoming episode. It has been almost half a year since the legendary variety show paused its broadcast and now many are expecting to see one of the highest viewer rating in variety show history for the upcoming episode.

HaHa shares a photo of Yoo Jae Suk in his brand new pair of ‘designer shoes’

With MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ being off the air for over half a year now, the cast members recently decided to get together for a heartwarming party.

On July 12th, HaHa shared two photos from the party and tweeted, “Jung Jun Ha hyung loves Yoo Jae Suk hyung so much that he presented him with the latest design in shoes! Air Jordans have no chance against Air Nex!”

The photos shows Yoo Jae Suk stylishly posing in his new pair of ‘designer shoes’, which were actually just an empty box of Kleenex (nex) tissue.

Fans burst into laughter upon seeing the photo commenting, “I want those shoes!“, “This is hilarious“, “It’s good seeing the ‘Infinity Challenge’ members together again!“, and more.

MBC’s ‘Dr. Jin’ extended two episodes

MBC’s ‘Dr. Jin‘ starring Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo, and Kim Jaejoong has been extended by 2 more episodes.

A staff member at the drama said on July 12th, “We have decided to add two more episodes.  Although we started with a plan of just 20 episodes it seems that it will be hard to tie up the story so for the sake of creating a more complete story, we have decided to add the extra episodes.”  Dr. Jin is now scheduled to conclude in early August.

The actors have already shown a positive response to this idea.  Lee Bum Soo recently stated, “I hope it is 40 episodes and not 20.  It is too short for the viewers to follow the overall arc in just 20 episodes.“  Song Seung Hun said, “It is hard to show everything in just 20 episodes especially for a historical drama.”

Even after the positive response from the actors, the staff was still worried on how the viewers would take the news that the show has been extended.  ‘Dr. Jin’ began airing on May 26th alongside SBS’s ‘Gentleman’s Class‘ with the plan of ending on July 29th.  A staff member said, “With the extension of our show, some people might think that we are trying to take the place of the number one show in our time slot, ‘Gentleman’s Class.’  But we never thought about the ratings when we made this decision.”

Song Seung Hun forms his own 3-member boy band

Actor Song Seung Hun, who’s currently starring in MBC‘s ‘Time Slip Dr. Jin‘, recently shared a humorous photo with his co-stars Jaejoong and Jin Yi Han on the set of their drama.

On July 14th, the actor tweeted, “Three-member group to debut soon! Please come up with a name for us,” and shared the photo above.

The photo has drawn much laughter as it shows the three actors putting on a similar pose with their legs crossed and their arm resting on their knee.

Fans commented, “You three would make the most handsome idol group“, “When are you guys debuting?“, “It’s a visual group!“, and more.

‘Invincible Youth 2′ and ‘Immortal Song 2′ will not air new episodes this week

KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘ and ‘Immortal Song 2‘ will not be airing new episodes on July 14th due to the friendly soccer match between South Korea and New Zealand for the 2012 London Olympics.

Viewers who were anticipating to see new emcee Lee Young Ja on ‘Invincible Youth 2′ will unfortunately have to wait another week. Same goes for those waiting to see ‘Immortal Song 2′ fresh, new performances.

SBS‘s ‘Star Junior Show‘ and ‘Star King‘, and MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘ will be airing its programs as normal, however MBC’s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ will remain airing a special episode due to the ongoing labor strike.
