Jung Jae Hyung to join ‘Immortal Song 2′ as new MC

Singer-composer Jung Jae Hyung has joined KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘ as a new MC.

According to KBS on August 13th, Jung Jae Hyung participated in his first recording of ‘Immortal Song 2′ last week for the ‘Lee Seung Hwan Special’.

It is said that the singer-composer brought much laughter to the audience with his entrance for having his signature ‘Music Fairy’ concept. Thanks to his experience hosting a program like SBS‘s ‘You & I‘, Jung Jae Hyung fulfilled his role well and further created a lively recording atmosphere with his volubility and smooth transitions.

This episode is scheduled to air on September 1st.

Super Junior’s Ryeowook and Ailee to exit ‘Immortal Song 2′

It has been revealed that Super Junior‘s Ryeowook will be leaving KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘ completely, whereas singer Ailee will be putting her appearance on a temporary halt to focus on her upcoming album.

On August 13th, a representative of Ryeowook revealed, “Due to Super Junior’s busy schedule, Ryeowook will inevitably be leaving ‘Immortal Song 2′. Ryeowook recorded his final performance for the program back on July 16th and it’s scheduled to air on August 25th.”

On the other hand, soloist Ailee will be making a temporary leave from the show in order to focus on her upcoming album, which is scheduled for an October release. “Rather than saying that she’ll be leaving the program, it’s better to say that she’ll be taking a break. There’s a high possibility that she will be returning later on.”

Luna of f(x) to join ‘Immortal Song 2′

f(x)‘s Luna will be joining KBS 2TV‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘.

A staff member from KBS announced on July 26th, “Luna will be joining ‘Immortal Song 2′ as a permanent member of the cast.”

The staff member continued, “Luna has shown her talented vocals in her activities as a singer and as a musical actress so anticipation is high as to what she will bring to ‘Immortal Song 2′. We feel like she will bring the same great talent she shows while performing with f(x) to the show.”

There was news in August of 2011 that Luna would be joining ‘Immortal Song 2′, but unfortunately, she was unable to. She’ll be participating in her first recording of the program on August 6th.

On another note, 4men‘s Shin Yong Jae will be returning to ‘Immortal Song 2′ in August, and Cha Jiyeon will also be joining the lineup.

What gift from fans does Super Junior’s Ryeowook find most memorable?

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook revealed what he feels is the most memorable gift he’s received from fans.

On the July 21st broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Immortal Song 2‘, Ryeowook was asked to pick a gift from fans that left an impression. He drew attention for his unconventional reply as he answered: “A giraffe.”

He explained, “I received a giraffe from Thai fans as a birthday present. I [said previously] that I like giraffes so they gifted me one.”

Sweet Sorrow to make their first appearance on ‘Immortal Song 2′

A cappella group Sweet Sorrow will be making their first appearance on KBS‘s ’Immortal Song 2‘!

This week’s summer special will feature not only regulars like Super Junior‘s Ryeowook, Ulala Session, Sonya, Ailee, INFINITE‘s Sunggyu, Younha, and Hong Kyung Min, but new performers including Sweet Sorrow, 2PM‘s Junsu, 8Eight‘s Lee Hyun, Cha Ji Hyun, and At.

Well-known for their wit and amazing a cappella skills, Sweet Sorrow’s first performance will showcase the group’s powerful vocals and harmony with Shim Soo Bong‘s hit from the 80′s, “Young Sun“, on this week’s broadcast.

The broadcast will also feature a surprise guest, comedienne Shin Bora, in an exciting duet performance with Ailee. The summer special will run on July 21st and July 28th, so keep your eyes open for some fresh new performances!

INFINITE’s Sunggyu to leave ‘Immortal Song 2′ due to overseas promotions

INFINITE‘s Sunggyu will be leaving ‘Immortal Song 2‘ due to overseas promotions. The July 16th filming of the KBS program was the lead vocal’s last.

Sunggyu became a fixed cast member of ‘Immortal Song 2′ this past May along with Super Junior‘s Ryeowook. He’s the second INFINITE member, after Woohyun, to appear on the show.

The last broadcast of ‘Immortal Song 2′ with Sunggyu as a contestant will be a summer music special, featuring Lee Saung Eun and Lee Sang Woo, airing on the 21st. Sunggyu first appeared on the program on the Yang Hee Eun special with “A Love that Cannot Be“, and went on to impress in later shows with Yoon Il Sang‘s “Wave” and Hyun Chul‘s “With the Star in My Heart“.

In related news, INFINITE will open ‘INFINITE Concert That Summer‘ in Seoul on August 8.

For viewers looking forward to new episodes of ‘Invincible Youth 2‘ and ‘Immortal Song 2‘, you’re out of luck as new episodes didn’t air this week.

Instead of airing these respective programs KBS2TV aired the live Soccer Friendly match between South Korea and New Zealand.

Regular programming for ‘Invincible Youth 2′ and ‘Immortal Song 2′ should continue next week.

‘Invincible Youth 2′ and ‘Immortal Song 2′ will not air new episodes this week

KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘ and ‘Immortal Song 2‘ will not be airing new episodes on July 14th due to the friendly soccer match between South Korea and New Zealand for the 2012 London Olympics.

Viewers who were anticipating to see new emcee Lee Young Ja on ‘Invincible Youth 2′ will unfortunately have to wait another week. Same goes for those waiting to see ‘Immortal Song 2′ fresh, new performances.

SBS‘s ‘Star Junior Show‘ and ‘Star King‘, and MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘ will be airing its programs as normal, however MBC’s ‘Infinity Challenge‘ will remain airing a special episode due to the ongoing labor strike.
