Kim Soo Ro shows his support for SECRET and KARA during filming for ‘God of Victory’

Actor Kim Soo Ro recently took to his Twitter to show his support for girl group SECRET by tweeting, “[Our nation's] fortune and asset,” along with a friendly snapshot taken with the group.

Girl groups SECRET and KARA faced off against each other for the recent filming of ‘God of Victory‘, and Kim Soo Ro took the role of SECRET’s team leader.

After filming for the show, SECRET’s Hyosung gave a shout out to Kim Soo Ro, tweeting, “Oppa, this is Hyosung. You worked really hard! I was so happy to have a good captain.” Kim Soo Ro responded, “Hyosung, today I saw your sincerity! Whatever the result is, you were the best!” Although Sunhwa couldn’t film due to conflicting schedules, fans who saw this complimented SECRET’s manners and respect for their seniors.

Kim Soo Ro also tweeted, “Today, it’s been four months since recording for ‘God of Victory’. The battle between KARA and SECRET! I am truly thankful to the two groups who did their best. Why is the Hallyu wave going strong? Why are idol groups so popular? I learned why during this recording. Whatever the result is, they were so awesome,” showing his support and admiration for K-pop idol groups.

In related news, SECRET will be returning with their 3rd mini-album ‘Poison‘ this coming 13th KST.

SECRET warms up for their Korean comeback next month

It seems we’ll be seeing SECRET make their comeback soon!

According to industry officials, SECRET is gearing up for a comeback in the middle of next month, nearly a year since their former release, ‘Love is Move‘. Compared to other artists who are promoting back to back, SECRET has been on a considerably long hiatus, but that doesn’t mean the time hasn’t been well spent. The girls have been busy working on coming up with a different image and musical style to present their fans with something fresh.

Officials are looking forward to whether the girls will continue their streak of home runs following ‘Shy Boy‘ and ‘Love is Move’. The nation’s top producers are said to have teamed up for this comeback to make it another hit.

SECRET will be warming up with international promotions first through the release of their first Japanese album, ‘Welcome to SECRET Time‘, on August 22nd, featuring the Japanese versions of “Love is Move”, “Madonna“, and “Magic” for a total of 16 songs. TS Entertainment stated, “SECRET will be going back and forth promoting in Japan and Korea during the release period of their new Japanese album.”

Which girl group idols speak in dialects the most?

A recent online community board post titled, “Girl group speaking in dialect” has been receiving attention.

The post ranked current girl group idols based on how much they spoke in a nonstandard, regional accent. The top level included After School‘s Lizzy,  A Pink‘s Eunji, and Dal Shabet‘s Subin.

The author wrote about Lizzy, “Gets loved for speaking in dialect on talk shows. Captured all the male fans with her aegyo-filled dialect.” For Eunji, the author wrote, “Currently rising star in dialect,” and for Subin: “Urban visual, but mouth is country.”

The middle level consisted of f(x)‘s Sulli and SECRET‘s Sunhwa. The author explained for Sulli, “Occasionally speaks in dialect for TV. Intelligent for knowing how to use the male hearts that go crazy for dialect,” and for Sunhwa: “Dialect pops up during conversations or when she gets flustered.”

Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon and T-ara‘s Hyomin were placed in the lower level because they are both from provinces that use a nonstandard accent, but they rarely speak in dialect.

After viewing the post, netizens commented, “Lizzy is the most charming,” “Who’s the girl with Gangnam style visuals and speaks in dialect,” and “Dialect equals Lizzy, Subin, and Eunji.”

SECRET members become kitten game characters for ‘Blade & Soul’ video game

South Korean gaming company NC Soft‘s game ‘Blade & Soul‘ will release the special outfits that reflect the individuality of each of the SECRET members.

This set of clothing was specially designed to reflect both the four tribes in the game (Gun, Gon, Lin, Jin) and the distinctive personalities of the four SECRET members. The girls recently had their likeness as kitten characters in the game.

To commemorate the launch of these outfits, various promotional activities are also being held. For example, for anyone who purchases one of these SECRET items or outfits and submits a screenshot on the official website before August 24th they will be entered into a drawing for various prizes.

Pictures of SECRET‘s Ji Eun from her high school yearbook have captured the attention of netizens.

The above graduation photos of Ji Eun dressed neatly in her high school uniform were recently shared on an online community board. The SECRET member looked sharp with her bangs and straight, shoulder-length hair. Although she still has the bright eyes and sharp features today, her young face gave fans a new look at Ji Eun’s charms.

Netizens commented, “Innocence itself,” “She’s pretty,” “Even though she probably took it after her debut, she looks so much younger,” “Fresh,” “Looks like a black and white photo of Kim Tae Hee,” and “Her eyes are just like Seohyun‘s of Girls’ Generation.”

Netizens compare girl group graduation pictures

A collection of girl group pictures, titled, “The high school graduation pictures of girl idols“, has become a hot topic online.

The collection, shown above, compares the members of various girl groups, normally praised for their “goddess”-like looks, to the looks they sported during their high school, predebut days. A variety of members were included in the list, from top tier, senior groups such as Wonder Girls, 2NE1, T-ara, f(x), SISTAR, After School, and SECRET, to groups still getting there, such as Dal Shabet, Hello Venus, EXID, and A Pink.

Despite the fact that many of these graduation pictures have already been previously revealed, netizens were intrigued upon seeing them all together, commenting, “It looks like there are [some] ordinary-looking performers,” “[Even after seeing their predebut pictures, I think that] there are still a lot of pretty people [who became idols],” “Suzy, Sulli, and Jiyeon are pretty,” “Sulli is the real deal,” and, “I wonder who has become the prettiest [since  their predebut days].”
