Kim Kyu Jong writes letter to fans from military

Kim Kyu Jong, who became the first SS501 member to officially enlist for mandatory military service on July 23, has written a letter to his fans!

Kyu Jong wrote:

“To: Triple S and! ThanKYU ~

Hi! Is everyone doing well?! I am doing well during this short, 4-week training period.

Oh! I received the letters sent by you, the fans~^^. All thanks to them, I feel stronger, and I’m enjoying myself and doing well.

I’m really curious whether Pretties are doing well or not! I want to check in on your well-being everyday through SNS, and though it is a bit frustrating, I believe you all are definitely doing well ^^. Because you’re always well~ Hopefully, even more so in the future too! ^^

I miss you a lot~. While in training, when the [others in training] asked me random questions, I kept thinking back to the day I debuted in 2005. It’s already 2012..!

We’ve been together for a really long time…^^

Let’s make [great memories] in the future too.

Only a few days have passed, but I miss the members… T.T I also miss Pretties..! I’m reminded again how precious you all are.

The word ‘we’ is not a word that is used meaninglessly in Korean…^^ It’s a word that is only really used in a relationship like ours!~ The dongsaengs in my dormitory who are beside me, kept asking me to sing our songs… haha…

Even though I like singing, I felt shy and embarrassed here. ^^~

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a letter, so I’m [all over the place]!

I hope you understand~. I hope Pretties will always smile and stay positive~.

Looking forward to the day when we can smile together and meet once again! ^^

Bye bye~ <3.”

CNR Media argues that Park Jung Min’s income demands were ‘unreasonable’

CNR Media, the former agency of SS501‘s Park Jung Min, has objected to the court ruling that terminated their exclusive contract with Park. They appealed this decision, arguing that Park Jung Min had requested an unreasonably high income.

CNR Media reported through a press release on August 8th, “In order to sign with Park Jung Min, we paid a deposit of 400 million KRW (~$354,000 USD) and pre-paid an additional 150 million KRW (~$133,000 USD) in 2011. These are extremely good contract conditions for any celebrity within the same rank as Park.”

They continued, “As he proceeded with his tax reports at the end of 2011, Park Jung Min requested approximately 80% of the company’s total revenue, which comes to more than 700 million KRW (~$621,000 USD). Subtracting all costs, the company calculated his total profit to be $266,500 USD, a number much less than what he had asked for. The unreasonable amount of earnings he has demanded without good reason is a number calculated unilaterally, and is his way of terminating a contract with the company.”

However, Park Jung Min’s agency stated, “There is no point in taking action [to respond]. CNR Media has earned an immense profit from Park Jung Min’s activities in various countries, however, there were no benefits in it for Park Jung Min. All the more, even when there was no continued support, the company pushed ahead with more functions and events that Park Jung Min himself had to find stylists and other help for.”

Meanwhile, Park Jung Min stated last April, “Aside from the 150 million Won I received last year, the company has not been paying my income properly. I am asking to have my contract terminated,” and the court accepted his provisional disposition.

Park Jung Min wins court case to terminate his contract with CNR Media

SS501‘s Park Jung Min‘s provisional disposition to terminate the validity of his contract with CNR Media has been accepted by the court.

Back in April, the singer had submitted the disposition on grounds of not being properly paid for his work. At the time, he had claimed, “Aside from the 150 million Won I received last year, the company has not been paying my income properly. I am asking to have my contract terminated.”

On July 31st, the Seoul Central District Court granted the provision, effectively terminating his relation to the company. Officials explained, “Park Jung Min has won the case in terminating his contract. We will be discussing the details of his future soon.”
