T-ara to be First Korean Girl Group to Perform at the Budokan

T-ara will be the first Korean girl group to perform at Tokyo’s Budokan.

T-ara will be topping its Japan tour with a set of finale concerts to be held from July 25-26 in Budokan. Although the concerts are to be held on weekdays, all 20,000 seats have sold out.

The Budokan is one of the dream stages for Japanese singers in Japan, and TVXQ (DBSK), Lee Seung Gi, 2PM, FT Island and other prominent Korean singers have performed at the venue.

However, T-ara will be the first girl group to perform there. The members stated that they would “show off the greatness of Korean girl groups” at the concert.

Since June, T-ara has been touring through Japan’s Aichi, Fukuoka, Osaka, Miyagi and Hokkaido, and it plans to finally wrap up with a bang at Tokyo’s Budokan.

T-ara released Bo Peep Bo Peep in Japan last year, and became the first Korean girl group to top the Oricon Daily Chart and the Oricon Weekly Chart with the single album.

Its follow-up singles Yayaya, Roly Poly and Lovey Dovey have all also made it to the top ranks.
