‘Deranged’ Becomes Fastest Korean Film to Reach 2 Million

Deranged hit 2 million in just eight days since its premiere, becoming the fastest Korean film this year to reach that record.

According to the Korean Film Council′s Compiled Ticket Computer Network, Deranged gathered 2,078,297 moviegoers since its premiere up to July 12.

A total of 164,977 tickets were sold on that day alone, setting the film at the top of the box office for that day yet again.



Before Deranged, Nameless Gangster held the fastest record for 2 million among Korean films released this year. Nameless Gangster reached 2 million in 10 days.

The eight days for Deranged is not only the fastest among Korean films, but it also is the second fastest film this year, among all films released in Korea. Number one is still The Avengers, which hit 2 million in six days.

Deranged is a film about a disaster caused in Korea by mutant parasitic worms, and stars Kim Myung Min, Kim Dong Wan, Moon Jung Hee and Honey Lee.
