A-Jax Draws Attention as ‘the Successor of SS501’

A-Jax landed in Japan with the title ‘the successor of SS501’ from the Japanese press.

On July 11, news of A-Jax’s showcase, which took place in front of 200 Japanese broadcast and press officials, hit the Japanese press.

Big channels such as TBS and Nihon TV and other outlets such as Nikkan, Sankei, Daily Sports and Sports Hochi all reported on A-Jax’s successful first Japan showcase.

They called A-Jax ‘the successor of SS501’, and said the group would be the next hallyu star to follow its DSP seniors SS501 and Kara. A-Jax previously announced it would be the first Korean singer to debut in both Korea and Japan in its first year, and on the day of the showcase it finally stepped foot in Japan with three performances including one of the Japanese version of its debut single One 4 U.

Kara’s Park Gyuri especially lit up the show with a surprise MC appearance.

She called A-Jax “Kara’s little brothers,” and said that “it’s a group that’s powerful onstage but is actually very cute. A-Jax is a lot like Kara.”

A-Jax has started to promote its second digital single Hot Game in Korea, and will release its debut single in Japan in August.
